Laguna Hills, CA. October 29, 1998. Allegria Software Inc. announces another major release—ForReview 5.0 view and markup software. This application provides a complete view, markup, check, print and collaborative product that integrates tightly with any EDM/PDM or ERP system in today’s marketplace.

This release expands the intelligent utility of markups. An important and unique feature is providing "markup revisions" to create and maintain audit trails of all markups made to a document. The user can now promote or roll back selected markups, as well as review the history of markups. Markups are many times lost after a revision is made to a document, and designers have difficulty going back to see what has transpired during prior review processes.

A new "transparent" markup mode is now available, increasing the visibility of markups without obscuring any important data on the document. It allows users to draw all markups transparently (even ForReview’s picture markup object).

Additionally, a highlight mode and an erase mode have been added for highlighting or erasing parts of documents. The results can be viewed correctly at any zoom scale, which is a problem in many other products.

Markup features also extend to support grouping and ungrouping, undo/redo, and automatic bookmarking of markups. Bookmarking is great for subsequent revision comparisons.
