Allegria Software Adds Gerber, IGES and UG Partfiles to ForReview's Suite of Supported File Formats Laguna Hills, CA. April 27, 1999. Allegria Software is proud to announce that its powerful view & markup software, ForReview, now supports Gerber (274D and 274X), IGES, and UG/ Partfile Drawing formats, helping ForReview lead the market in providing collaborative view, markup, compare, check, and print solutions that automate the design and review processes. Gerber 274D & 274X ForReview is the first to offer support for both the 274D and 274X versions of the Gerber format, allowing ForReview to expand into the Electrical Computer-Aided-Design market. IGES IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) is a widely used neutral file format recognized for the digital exchange of information among different CAD/CAM systems. Nearly all major and minor CAD systems support some version of IGES. IGES was originally developed for the exchange of drafting data like 2D/3D wireframe models, text, dimensioning data, and a limited class of surfaces. ForReview now enables direct viewing, markup, and printing of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional IGES files. UG/Drafting Partfile (.prt) UG Drafting support further builds upon the strong partnership that already exists between Allegria Software and Unigraphics, which began with Allegria's development of UG RemarX. UG/Drafting offers a comprehensive set of automated tools for the production and management of engineering and technical drawings. It is used to enable any designer, engineer, or drafter to make accurate and detailed drawings of solid models that are needed to create parts in a production environment. Fully associated with other UG applications, UG/Drafting creates dimensions that are associated to the geometric model, allowing the drawing views, and hidden-line/ cross-section views to be automatically updated when the model is revised. ForReview's support of UG/Drafting files now allows users to quickly access these documents for examination and revision without needing to load the files through Unigraphics.
