FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Laguna Hills, CA. September 2, 1997. Allegria Software proudly announces the launch of a new product called 3DReview. 3DReview is Allegria's new PC desktop CAD visualization and mark-up application that interactively renders 3D CAD/CAM data sets. The intent of 3DReview is to provide the non-CAD user with an intuitive low-cost (only $299!) tool for viewing, redlining and gaining meaningful insight to CAD data without the need of a sophisticated CAD system running on an expensive workstation. In fact, Allegria is so excited about this product that they are prepared to offer 3DReview for an incredible "launching" price of only $199 through the end of December, 1997! They invite you to compare it's features to those that are much higher priced by downloading a FREE '30 trial', full working copy of 3DReview from their website (www.allegria.com) and trying it for yourself!
Key advantages of 3DReview include:
Due to features such as a mouse driven camera setting, drag and drop of CAD files, context sensitive pop-up menus, and a Microsoft Windows interface style, 3DReview is a very easy to use program. It was developed to be as intuitive as possible, and does not require any 3D and CAD experience. In order to be able to read complex data files like IGES and VDA-FS, 3DReview includes a very sophisticated, mixed dimensional, geometric model representation that can represent trimmed NURBS surfaces and solids.
3DReview is perfect for:
Utilizing the internal format:
Whatever the source of geometry, binary file format, 3DReview 3DReview converts it to a very simple format. Through its own reads all entities from the original file and represents them internally by polylines and triangles. 3DReview files are not meant to represent geometric data in a precise way, but instead are meant to let users save and retrieve graphic data in a very convenient way. A benefit of using the reads 3DReview files faster than 3DReview format over other solid model formats is that 3DReview other solid formats. Plus, 3DReview users. 3DReview files can be easily sent by electronic mail to other
Original solid model files can be very large and slow to access. After a design has been finalized, a common practice is to store just the 3DReview file in lieu of its original file. This method will provide the quickest access to view and mark-up capabilities. Also, the 3DReview format is the only format that supports mark-up, meaning that the only way to create and/or exchange 3D mark-up files is through 3DReview files.
When using 3DReview in the design process, it is recommended to use the 3DReview internal file format for managing CAD information. This provides a fast, convenient and cost-effective method for visualizing the design as well as conveying 3DReview's mark-ups. Using the 3DReview file format in this way is also ideal in situations where there is a need to share the image, but not its corresponding geometry (such as with Marketing, Purchasing, Suppliers, Management and Consultants).
Key features in 3DReview include:
Supported formats in 3DReview include:
System Requirements:
3DReview runs on Windows NT and '95 platforms, and requires OpenGL. On a 100MHz computer with 16MB RAM, 3DReview can easily load and visualize models composed of hundreds of trimmed NURBS surfaces, or thousands of triangles within an STL file. It runs stand-alone, or can be launched (encapsulated) by an EDM/PDM application.
Allegria Software is genuinely committed to providing a full range of enterprise-wide solutions that can stand firmly on their own or can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of any existing document/data management system. Allegria also produces ForReview, the number one enterprise-wide view and mark-up software that supports over 150 different file formats. Other superior products include gralXconvert and gralXnetPlot for file conversion and plotter management.
